We'd like to thank Sune's Home Center for their support with the building of Schooner Huron Jewel.
The knowledge and cooperation of the great crew at Sune's Home Center were tremendous. They have helped us procure most of the tools and materials used to build the schooner, including special ordering the 2" x 6" x 16' Douglas fir tongue and groove planking. If it could come from a hardware store, we got it from them!
Give them a call at 906-493-5198 - they have a warehouse with over 65,000 items available to be shipped weekly to the store for free.
News and views to inspire, inform and connect the communities of Drummond Island, DeTour Village and points west.
We would like to express our appreciation to the Drummond Island Digest for allowing Drummond Island Tall Ship Company to write regular articles about the progress of Schooner Huron Jewel.

Nate's Marina
A small marina with great hometown service on Sturgeon Bay.
We're indebted to Nate's Marina, Gordon MacKay and Rich Curtis for all their friendly help. Schooner Huron Jewel spent a few weeks there while her ballast and masts were being put in. If you're looking for a place to dock your boat, fill up the gas tank, have a small engine repaired, or buy or sell a boat - give them a call at 906-493-5352.
Over 70 years of personal service and nautical expertise.
Without our friends at DI Yacht Haven, Schooner Huron Jewel would still be up on the hard. Their skilled crew were there when we needed them to put her in the water. Their friendly staff at the marina's ship store always has a friendly smile for us when we need fuel, pump out, ice or quarters for doing laundry. They are a terrific full service marina along with offering sales, repairs and storage.
We're proud to be sailing off her docks each summer. Be sure to stop in their ship's store, say "hi" and check out their cool nautical items for sale.
